Pam's Daily Wave...

This poem is from a beautiful little book, I found at the inn when renovating. It was part of a set that were covered in dust, and hidden from view. I was instantly drawn to the books, and on opening, I was certainly not disappointed. I decided to read the first book which was entitled "To Those Who See", the next morning at sunrise.

So, there I was on the back deck of the inn just before sunrise, with my trusty mug of coffee, and only Bodie the surf pup for company....(this was in the early days of owning the inn, when JB was still going between Hatteras and our old horse-farm in Hillsborough, and I was often on my own in our century old inn (pre renovations!!!).

I got comfy on an old chair, and opened the precious little book - my first impression was the wonderful quality of the paper, and the different textures that were contained within...it was incredible. I took a breath and began reading the first poem....and those words spoke to my soul - I knew this poem was written for me.... and those like me

I spent the next hour or so (it may have been longer as I completely lost track of time), carefully turning the pages, and absorbing the wonderous words, and their accompanying sketches and drawings that were so delicate, so beautiful, all done by Gwen Frostic, so many years ago.

That week, I went on to read the little set of books, a different one every day - at the same time, and in the same place on the deck at the back of the inn. Each piece of writing bringing new joy, wonder, awe and inspiration... and sometimes even a few tears 💗
