Pam's Daily Wave...

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday from my Atlantic Life in Hatteras 😊

It's a bit of a cloudy start to our day here in Hatteras, with some rumbles of thunder, but nonetheless beautiful.....how could you not think it was - our perception of beauty should not be influenced merely by the weather, in fact as I've written about before, often I find the scene to be even more spectacular.

Earlier this morning, as I was drinking my coffee (you know, that first mug of coffee of the day....the one that always tastes incredible, like my taste buds have rested during the night and are ready for a new day of tastes 😄), a quote from the Dalai Lama wondered into my "crazy little lady brain".

"Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can."

Dalai Lama

What a simply incredible way to start your day...💗

Can you imagine a world where everyone wakes up feeling fortunate to be alive, that consciously decide to make the best out of every moment of their day......that their default emotions are kindness and compassion towards others? A more beautiful world I cannot imagine...

So, you're probably thinking that this world would be an unattainable nirvana, impossible to achieve....but should that mean we don't try?????

There are people all over our little blue planet that do just that - try to live their life as fully as they possibly can, often under less-than-optimal circumstances, people that go out of their way to help and inspire others, demonstrate acts of kindness each and every day....are you one of those? It may not always be easy, we each have our own stresses, worries and challenges, but should that be an excuse for not being kinder to others?

Just in case anyone was wondering.....I am not Buddhist, I just read a lot 😉, and when I see writings that resonate deeply with me, it can be a philosopher, writer, iconic figure, poet, historian, a friend.....anyone at all that writes words that I find inspirational - I take note of them to ponder on later.

I've just handwritten the Dalai Lama's quote and am going to keep it at the side of my bed....and I intend to read it every morning......just as a reminder 💗

Until Next Time...

Take care, Stay Safe and.....just think, wouldn't this quote be a wonderful way to start Your day? and the more of us that try to be kinder and compassionate - the closer we'll get to that "nirvana"

Love and Hugs,

Pam

PS. The incredibly brave people of the Ukraine can use as much kindness and compassion that we can send…. I’m continuing to keep them in my thoughts and prayers 💗
