Pam's Daily Wave...

Good Morning and Welcome to my Atlantic Life 😊

*warning photofest of colors, no filters or edits needed

Well, it's a warm and windy one today...With temps climbing to the upper 70's, it's a quick reminder that Spring is just around the corner here in Hatteras 🌞

Like many people that make their permanent home on the island, JB and I have been super busy trying to finish some of our winter "To Do List" of projects before the new season begins....

and, I'm so excited (and relieved!!) that two of the bigger ones were completed yesterday - the car park and the website, both of which were getting a little tired looking. Fortunately, we didn't have to do much at all with the car park, it was all done by a wonderful local contractor (The Lawn Guy, Frisco), who did a fantastic job.

Work on the car park

The website redesign, on the other hand was done by me....and this isn't something I gained experience in, during my clinical and research career!! With no real experience or particular skill in this field, and unlike the car park, where I could just stand back and admire the hard work it was taking to resurface it, this one was all on me. So, lots and lots, and lots of computer hours (which I'm not overly keen on anyways), hours of frustration, many lessons learned the hard way (like having to completely restart the website on 3 separate occasions) and more than a few nasty words muttered under my breath, and it was finally done.

On building the new website, I thought it would be useful to create a section on "Exploring Hatteras" which includes some fun local activities that are available close by ("Discover Adventures"), and, some of our incredible local restaurants ("Savor the Flavors") that are our particular faves!

As it takes quite a bit of work collating the information for "Explore Hatteras" and getting it all onto the website, with the appropriate hyperlinks, this section will be a work in progress. I'm currently creating another called "Island Shopping" which will include many of our amazing small local and specialty stores, but this isn't ready to be added to the active website just yet, this will be done at a later date. This morning sitting on the beach (having dermabrasion done by the rather strong westerly winds! and stinging sand!), once more I was witness to some incredible colors and shapes in the sky. The clouds were moving fast and created the most beautiful color palette as they moved across the sky, and the sun began to wake from her sleepy slumber.

Atlantic Magic...

The sky was just incredible this morning

And of course my feathered friends...

This photo like all the others have not been edited in any way.....but it looks so surreal 💕

It really does look like I've superimposed a big sun on the waves....!!!

Last Glimpse...

One of the many, many things I love about living on a sandbar 30 miles out in the Atlantic are the truly spectacular sunrises and sunsets.....last night on returning to the inn after an awesome dinner at Tavern on 12 😋 the sky was so beautiful, I tried to capture the scene on my phone, but the pics I caught just don't do justice to the sight...it was even more magical in person.

Last night's spectacular sky over the inn

And, on stepping out onto the balcony of our apartment, I was treated to a wonderful view of the Moon with Jupiter and Venus....I felt so humbled and blessed to live my "Atlantic Life"

Mr. Moon just hanging out with his friends Jupiter and Venus 😊

Until Next Time...

Take care, Stay Safe and....Take time today to count your blessings...they are all around you 💕

Love and Hugs,

Pam
