Pam's Daily Wave...Happy New Year!

Hello and Welcome to 2022😊

So, last night we said farewell to 2021... and, as we usher in the New Year, I'm sure there will be many just like me, whose minds turn to what 2022 will bring?

But why should I wait to see what a year "brings" me? That sounds a little too passive - so, I'll just sit here patiently, and see what "happens" to me......I don't think so!

Instead, I'm thinking "what can I bring to 2022?"

Well, here's a start:

  • My authentic self

  • An open mind

  • A "roll up my sleeves and get it done" attitude

  • My "lessons learned"

  • Support to those who need me

  • My love to my family and friends

  • Positivity

  • Enthusiasm

  • Compassion

  • Hope

  • Trust

  • Inspiration

and "What do I want to happen in my life?"

Now, let's stop right there - I don't want to go down that all too well-travelled road of "New Year Resolutions". For me this is always a huge kind of "Wishlist" of things I want to do or to happen....and, by making them a "New Year Resolution", and as I decided to do it on January 1st, this grants them some kind of magical status, so it will just happen

We start super enthusiastically in the first week....and then daily life just gets in the way and before we know it, those "resolutions" are a distant memory that may make it onto a "To Do List" one day.

As studies in past years have shown, an average of only 7% of people that make "New Year's Resolution" lists, ever manage to stick to them and make their plans happen. To me, it sounds like doing a "New Year's Resolution" list, has the potential to doom to failure, any grand plans I may have!

I believe that Life, Love and Happiness all come from within Us....but often we are conditioned to believe that these can only come from external sources - So we spend a huge amount of time, effort and money, on trying to find how to attain that elusive, incredible Life, Love and Happiness, that we are all striving to have.

Perhaps we should take the first step by finding the courage to:

  • Learn to Accept and Love Yourself....the Authentic You

  • Learn to Accept and Love all the Wonderfulness that everyone else sees in You

  • Understand What You want in Your Life and Why? - Not what is expected of You, or what others want of You, but what You truly want and aspire to

Now, the aforementioned are not easy things for many of us to do, it takes time and yes...patience (not a trait I was granted with, and I constantly have to work on 😝). But the outcome of finding the courage to do these things, will be spectacular.... You will have (maybe for the first time ever) some realistic, authentic life goals.

By understanding what You truly want, and why You want it.... this will enable you to take the next step - creation of a "plan"......and please, don't be scared by the word "plan", this will give you the framework and steps you will need to take, to achieve your goals.

Wouldn't this be phenomenal step to take, instead of trying to fulfil a random "Wishlist" once a year?

For my 2022 - I'll not be having any "New Year Resolutions", I'm working on some new life goals...and thinking about how these goals can be turned into my new adventures.

As I've mentioned before, my Atlantic Life is a series of great adventures......and I'm always up for a new adventure!!!!

What about You? Will you be doing those same old "New Year Resolutions"

or are you willing to dig a little deeper, do the work, and commit to creating "a Life You'll Love to Live"

Until next time...

Take care, stay safe ....and why not take some time to ponder what " a Life You'll Love to Live" would look like.

Maybe you're already there - and if you are, Congrats!! that's awesome....Enjoy

...if not, perhaps it's time to give it a go💗

Love and Hugs,

Pam
