Good Morning and Welcome to a New Week from my Atlantic life in Hatteras 😊
This morning was most definitely a stay cozy at the inn kind of morning – whilst I really don’t mind strong winds and dropping temperatures (as I’ve mentioned before, being from a beach town in Scotland means I actually enjoy watching the ocean in that type of weather), but getting soaked by heavy rain at the same time, is usually where I draw the line.
So, I curled up on my comfy sofa with a steaming mug of hot chocolate, my fleecy blanket and welcomed the day there. As I was at home, after writing in my journal, I decided to read some poetry from a book I purchased recently….and on finding this one, instantly thought it would be a great way to set up your week – to reaffirm that we are all made up of our own unique awesomeness that can’t be quantified.
Outnumbered
7lbs 10oz
they all asked how much you weighed
and an IQ of 100
makes you average they say
9 out of 10 in Monday’s test
piano grade 5
2 minors in your Friday test
and now you’re free to drive
85’s the pass mark
so you’d better try your best
and if you’re scoring 90
then you’re destined for success
But grade five doesn’t tell them
of your favorite song to play
and how much you love is not defined
by how much you might weigh
Seven pound won’t tell them
you were born to paint the stars
and your test scores can’t explain
how you have come to bear your scars
Two is not nostalgia
when you drive yourself back home
it's not the memories you make
with friends out on the road
Eighty five and ninety
aren’t the songs you sing when sad
and they’re not the feeling in your heart
when you get up to dance
One hundred doesn’t tell them
that your favorite month’s September
so when you feel outnumbered
it’s important to remember
You are strength and you are kindness
you’re creative and you’re brave,
you are things that can’t be measured
can’t be counted, can’t be weighed
You’re a name and not a number
you weren’t born to be a score
so don’t let them quantify you
when you’re made of so much more

This is oh so true…..and we should all be entering this week knowing that we are all so much more. I truly hope you do 💗
Before I go, I wanted to let you know that during my “me time” this weekend - relaxing, calming my mind and being “gentle” with myself......not only did I have some awesome new thoughts and ideas, but this "me time" also gave me the inspiration to finalize my plans for another women’s retreat.
I’m super excited to let you know that there will now be 2 Spring women’s retreats:
"My Atlantic Retreat”
(Limited to 10 persons)
3rd-6th March, 2022
Is it time to write a new chapter in your life?
"Sometimes, you have to step outside the person you've been, and remember the person you were meant to be.
The person you want to be.
The person you are."
HG Wells (1866-1946)
Too often, instead of being our own person, we identify solely with our current (or previous) role in life - Our career, our marriage, our relationships, being the mother of our children, being a caregiver etc., and when one of those changes or ends, we are lost....not quite sure who we are anymore.
Why not disconnect from your busy world for a few days, on the beautiful island of Hatteras. Find the time here at your Atlantic Retreat, to rediscover and reconnect to the real You, the one that lives behind the mask you may have created, the one you may have hidden....or maybe just forgot...
· Learn to disconnect from our busy world and find what truly makes you happy
· Take time to rediscover and reconnect with Yourself
· Be Rested, Refreshed, Energized and Inspired - Ready for Your Next Adventure
"Transitions...from Crossroads to Adventure
- Start Designing A Life You'll Love to Live" (Limited to 10 persons)
31st March-3rd April, 2022
Each new Adventure is prompted by a change...
Sometimes in the waves of change...
We find our true direction
(Unknown)
A change of mind, a change of circumstances or a change of heart
Change can happen at any time, sometimes planned - often unexpected, but one thing's for sure, at some point we all have to deal with it.
· How to deal with the dreaded "What's next?"
· Learn where to start and how to make it happen
· Be Rested, Refreshed, Energized and Inspired - Ready for Your Next Adventure

I'd also be happy to answer any questions you may have by e-mailing me at Pam@myatlanticlife.com
And one last thing, I finally got some of my poetry loaded onto the website at:
Until next time....
Take care, Stay safe.......and please remember, numbers and scores don't define you....Your memories, your love, your values, your emotions, your thoughts, feelings and actions do 💗
Love and Hugs,
Pam
