Pam's Daily Wave...

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday.... and 10 more sleeps ‘til Christmas 🎄

Well, Christmas is definitely getting closer….and yes, I’m still writing Christmas cards!!!!

No matter how good I try to be at planning everything I need to do before the Holidays, things just never seem to go according to my “plan” 🤪

Have you ever made a mistake, and when you go back and try to fix it, you make it worse?

As I was sitting on the beach this morning, it was still dark and it was taking me a little longer than usual to clear my mind, when just as the sun began to rise...I saw a line of pelicans, skim across the waves. The silhouette of the beautiful birds against the backdrop of the incredible sky, just made me smile….and, as my mind freed up, I began to write.

At one point, I drew a picture of a little love heart (sometimes I doodle whilst I’m writing and not very well I may add!), - one side of the heart looked nice and proportional, the other was not symmetrical, the line was not where I thought it should be…..on looking at it, my initial (rather OCD) reaction was to “fix” it, which I did – or so I thought. I drew another “proper” line next to it and began blending the lines, then to make it symmetrical, I had to thicken the line on the other side of the sketch.

Now, I’m quite sure you are thinkingwhere are you going with this one Pam?” but please bear with me…

So, I had “fixed” the line, covering up my original mistake, and changed the thickness, and therefore the shape, of the other side – it should be perfect now. But, alas no, I had changed it so much, that it no longer looked like I had originally intended it to look like, and it certainly wasn't "perfect" whatever that was meant to be. When I had drawn the little love heart, it was in reaction to how I felt at that very moment I saw the pelicans – the sight made my hear soar, and I was thankful for that…..the sketch was an expression of my emotion at that time, it was never meant to look picture postcard perfect, that was never the intention.

As I pondered on this, I got to thinking that, just like us, (and my little drawing) – life is imperfect (regardless of what we often see on social media platforms) ……and that’s okay. It’s what we do with our lives that’s important – it’s understanding what make us, and those around us happy, trying what we can to live our best lives….not perfect lives.

Many of us spend a lot of time and energy worrying about all our flaws, and how we can “fix" them, and often, these can become the only things we see…. the mistakes, the errors, the scars, the uneven lines…. when we are so much more – You are so much more💗

As human beings, we are complicated, messy, mistake making, occasionally forgetful (ok, frequently forgetful if you’re me), sometimes “damaged”, often come with “baggage”….and we are all trying to be more “whole”…and that can make us all the more imperfectly, spectacularly and uniquely beautiful.

What is perfect anyway? And who decided what that would look like??....after all - it’s just a word, and I can think of many more positive words to use - can you? 🥰

Some more of this morning's imperfectly beautiful sky...

Please don't strive to be perfect......just be You, be kind to others, and have some fun living your best life possible!

Until Next Time,

Take care, Stay Safe.....and enjoy our imperfectly beautiful world 💗

Love and Hugs,

Pam
