Good Morning and Welcome to my Atlantic Life in Hatteras 😊
So, this pic demonstrates perfectly how I'm starting my week....and yes this is me, the photo courtesy of my Mom!
I've been a tad distracted recently, maybe spending a little too much time over-thinking some past decisions/choices, and it's most definitely time to step back from the edge of this particular precipice. Time to remember that every day is a precious gift, and I need to make sure that I'm embracing that fact and that I make the most of each and every moment. Yesterday, on looking through some old photos my Mom had sent me, I found this particular one of me, and my first thought was wow, I was ready to take on the world that day!!!! And, with this in mind, I decided that this would be how I would approach my Monday 💗
I didn't make it to my beach this morning as we were a little busy prepping for breakfast, but later this afternoon, once I've finished delivering lunches on my Hatteras Island Meals run (our local meals on wheels), I'm heading to the ocean. It's a rather wild and windy day....the kind of day that I want to walk alongside the turbulent waves, feel the exhilarating, salty air on my face, perhaps write for a while (sheltering in the back of Jake the Jeep 😊), before returning to the coziness of the inn.

There is something about sitting in a big comfy chair, with my fave blankie and a good book, whilst the wind whistles around the century-old structure, that just warms my heart. And although it's to be warm and beautiful later in the week, and it'll be back to T-shirt weather....today I'm reminded that I love the change of seasons and the promise of a "cozy" Fall and Winter 💕
