Pam's Daily Wave...

Good Morning and Welcome to the weekend from my Atlantic Life in Hatteras 😊

Adrift

Floating weightlessly on my ocean

the warm waves washing over my skin

Untethered and free, my spirit soars

like the beautiful bird that flies high above

Liberated from my worries

my quietened mind gives thanks

Replenished, my body relaxes

as I’m held in the water’s gentle salty embrace

There is just something about floating in water that for me is completely magical....Now, as someone who has spent much of their adult life immersed in healthcare/clinical research/science, my left brain reminds me of Archimedes principle of buoyancy, which states that the upward buoyant force that is exerted on a body immersed in a fluid, whether fully or partially, is equal to the weight of the fluid that the body displaces. So, as long as the water your body displaces weighs more than you do, you float.

My right brain has a different take on floating.....it's when my mind and body are in a state of total relaxation...and I'm free from the constraints of reality. It's like nature itself is supporting me, and I'm completely free. Wow, that makes me sound a tad "woo woo" 🙄....but it's true. I love, love, love floating!

I've had the great fortune to have "floated" in many different pools and oceans all over the world.....My most favorites though, are both in North Carolina - the mineral pools in the Grove Park Hotel spa at night when no-one else was there, it was so special, so serene......and of course, floating in my Atlantic at Hatteras beach.....one day at the beginning of October (yes, the water was beautifully warm in October!), the water was super calm and the clearest, bluest green I've ever seen in the US.....I could see dolphins off in the distance as I waded into the shallow water, and as I lay in the salty embrace of my Atlantic ocean with beautiful and graceful birds up above...I was truly free 💗

Now, as anyone that has visited Hatteras knows, the waves can be a little on the large side to "float" in the ocean, but the Pamlico Sound is ideal. Last year, after a couple of hours of windsurfing (aka falling off my board and getting back up again frequently....what can I say, I'm learning 😉), I take my board and sail to Jake, and then head back to the water to float and relax for a while.

Freedom is one of my 5 core values and is super important to me, floating for me is complete freedom....💗

Until Next Time...

Take care, Stay Safe and....maybe take time to ponder when do you feel most free?

Love and Hugs,

Pam

PS. Keeping the incredible people of the Ukraine in my thoughts and prayers 🙏
