Pam's Daily Wave...

Writer's picture: Pam BuchholzPam Buchholz

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday from my Atlantic Life in Hatteras 😊

Sunrise this morning was a tad hidden behind the clouds, and as there was no bright sun appearing on the horizon, this slow, hazy, light gave the appearance of "easing" into the day, which was rather awesome.

It was difficult to catch pics of my dolphins this morning 🥰

As I was walking along the shoreline, pelicans skimmed the incoming waves and before long my beautiful dolphins appeared. It was such a calm, serene and peaceful scene, one that I'm truly blessed to have the opportunity to witness. And this morning, I was even more thankful than usual - as whilst I live in what I think, is the most incredible place to live in the world (yes, I'm biased😉), not only do I have access to my absolutely beautiful sandy beaches, but I live in a wonderful small village which feels somewhat removed from the hustle, bustle and craziness of the world outside.

My increased thankfulness was prompted by thinking about the people of Ukraine, whose country has now been invaded by Russia. Now, don't worry I'm not going to get all geopolitical, I don't want politics of any form to enter my blog, this is from a humanitarian point of view. As I have mentioned before, when I write my blog, I want to be honest about what's going on in my "crazy little lady brain", and this is what popped into my head this morning as I was thinking how fortunate I was to live in Hatteras. Whilst I had the blessing of waking up in a soft, comfy bed in my century old inn, having my delicious coffee and walking to my beach to watch the sunrise, the people of Ukraine are waking up to war - Their lives changed forever...😥

We all have challenges in our lives, both big and small, no one is immune to this, it's part of life.... but it's super easy to get so wrapped up in our problems, that we forget about the good things we do have in our lives, the things that we should be truly thankful for. Everyone has something they can be thankful for.... maybe it's time to take stock of the "good" in your life. If someone asks us, "what is going wrong in your life?" "what's making you restless?" "what's not going the way you want?" "what's making you unhappy?" "what are you fearful of?"

It's generally simple to list at least a few...probably more, because these things tend to be at the forefront of our minds, sometimes shutting our mind out to all else.

When asked what good to you have in your life.... can you easily list these things? how long is your list? do you regularly recognize these wonderful things in your life?

Maybe it's time to revisit your list...and when you really think about it, you may be surprised how long it is💗

Until Next Time...

Take care, Stay Safe and....please make some time to work on that "good things in my life" list

Love and Hugs,

Pam

PS. I'm keeping the people of Ukraine and all NATO forces in my prayers 🙏
